What should I do to make sure my vehicle is winter ready?
First we would recommend having a tune-up, oil change, and fluid check done before the cold weather hits. Next we would recommend checking the tread on your tires. Icy roads will play dangerous tricks on any vehicle riding on tires with less than 4/16-inch of tread. Monitor your tire tread with a tread depth indicator and make sure your tires are properly balanced. Don't have a tread depth indicator lying around? Grab a penny. If the tread on the tire doesn't reach the top of Lincoln's head, then you need new tires! Another tip, wash the car's body once a week and have the engine steamed and the underside of the car washed twice during the winter to keep salt, grit and other corrosive elements off your car. This will help keep the body of your car like new and help keep your car's resale value high.
