Albany woman's impromptu karaoke in Sam's Club goes viral
ALBANY, N.Y. -- An Albany area woman's karaoke performance has become an internet hit! It's where she performed that's getting a lot of attention.
It was a Friday night.
"The people want to hear it, people want to hear it,” Christina Kokonis-Viggers said as she picked up the microphone.
"Maybe this time, for the first time,” she began to sing.
Kokonis-Viggers gave the crowd a little Liza Minnelli, but this was no nightclub; it was Sam's Club.
"We made it to the Christmas aisle and there was the karaoke machine,” she said.
Kokonis-Viggers was shopping with a friend when the part-time karaoke DJ saw an opportunity.
"It came off just like I'm going to sing a song, in an aisle for the fun of it, in Sam's Club,” she said.
Her friend shared the video on Facebook.
"I said to her, 'OK it's not going to go anywhere,' and she said, ‘I think this is going to go somewhere,’” said Kokonis-Viggers.
In a matter of days, she had millions of views.
"I don't have words for it, other than this is epic! Oh my gosh!” she said.
She's now scored a private audition for America’s Got Talent and new fans across the internet.
