Perinton, N.Y. (WHAM) - Lollypop Farm is hoping to bring a happy ending to a year-long story for a dog named Java.

Java is a six-year-old Shar Pei looking a home. Java has needed a home since December 17, 2015 when he was first surrendered to Lollypop.

Back then, the dog had severe problems with his skin, but has since cleared it up.

The sad part of this story is what the skin healing has revealed: a mast cell tumor on Java's skin. It was removed by veterinarians, but has since grown back.

Java could have months to live or he could have several years. Since veterinarians are unsure, they want to ensure he has a home for the holidays.

More information can be found through Lollypop Farm or by calling 223-1330.
