Flu restrictions issued for F.F. Thompson Hospital

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (WHAM) – F.F. Thompson Hospital is the latest medical facility to issue visitor restrictions due to the flu.

According to UR Medicine, the restrictions will go into place at both F.F. Thompson Hospital and the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center.

Those restrictions include:

  • A maximum of three visitors per patient at one time
  • Visitors under 14 are not permitted (Exceptions may be made, pending approval by the Infection Prevention Department)
  • Anyone displaying symptoms of possible illness should stay home until they are symptom-free for at least 24 hours

Signs are posted at the entrances to both the hospital and the continuing care center, and staff members have been made aware.

Similar protocols have been put into place at other UR Medicine facilities, as well as Rochester Regional Health facilities due to the flu.
