Practical healthy eating advice at 'Go Red For Women' luncheon
Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - Sometimes the simple advice is the best.
At the American Heart Association's Go Red For Women Luncheon Wednesday, the advice about heart health came from a nutrition expert.
Dr. Mike Roussell emphasized the practical over the complex when it comes to keeping your heart in good shape.
"Eat protein at every meal, getting vegetables in," Dr. Roussell said. "And making that a big part of your plate. Things that don't require counting calories don't require a lot of work. That can make a huge impact on their lives and their health."
The 'Go Red For Women' campaign is aimed at reminding us that heart disease is the number one killer of women and men and that 80 percent of it is preventable.
