What's Going Around - Week of March 6, 2017

(WHAM) - Here is what's going around for the week of March 6, 2017.

Dr. Carolyn Stern from UR Medicine Urgent Care in Henrietta is treating cerumen impaction - a build-up of ear wax.

Dr. Stern said the best thing patients can do is to not use q-tips or cotton swabs. Instead, they should use over-the-counter earwax drops if their ears are plugged.

Dr. David Carlson from UR Medicine Urgent Care in Farmington is seeing cases of the flu.

The best way to prevent the flu is by getting a flu shot. Dr. Carlson also advised patients to avoid having multiple people share food or drink - as it might spread the germs.

Your doctor or healthcare provider can give you the best advice.
