What's Going Around - Week of May 1, 2017
(WHAM) - It's time to see what's going around for the week of May 1, 2017.
Dr. David Carlson from UR Medicine Urgent Care in Farmington is treating punctures and cuts.
Dr. Carlson said to be sure to pick up all objects from your lawn before mowing and to keep children at a safe distance away from the mower. People mowing their lawn should also wear some footwear.
Dr. Matthew Capuano from UR Medicine Urgent Care in Penfield is seeing cases of poison ivy rash.
Dr. Capuano said patients should wear long sleeves and pants while out in the woods and to avoid burning fallen trees that have crawling vines. He added that you should avoid contact with plants that have three leaves, as well.
Your doctor or healthcare provider can give you the best advice.
