(WHAM) - Here is what's going around for the week of September 17, 2017.
Dr. David Carlson with UR Medicine Urgent Care in Newark is treating cases of pink eye.
Dr. Carlson said most of these cases are caused by a virus, but if you experience pain or an ear ache, you should seek care.
Dr. Carolyn Stern with UR Medicine Urgent Care in Henrietta is treating cases of the flu.
Dr. Stern said to prevent and reduce the chances of getting the flu or spreading it to others, you should get your flu shot.
She added patients should also wash their hands often, for at least 20 seconds, before eating, coughing, and blowing your nose. Patients should also avoid using their hands to cover their cough.
Your doctor or healthcare provider can give you the best advice.
