What's Going Around - Week of September 10, 2017
(WHAM) - Here is what's going around for the week of September 10, 2017.
Dr. Matthew Capuano with UR Medicine Urgent Care in Penfield is treating allergies. He reminds people to use a respirator when clearing mold or brush and to wear long sleeves and pants when gardening.
Patients should wash any possible poison ivy or oak exposure with discharge soap.
Dr. David Carlson of UR Medicine Urgent Care in Newark has been treating more cases of that poison ivy, with cross country runners having the oils rub off on them as they run through wooded areas.
Dr. Carlson wants to remind runners to consider over-the-counter preventative lotions to help prevent exposure. They can be washed off after the run.
As always, your doctor or primary healthcare provider can give you the best advice.
