What's Going Around - Week of September 24, 2017
(WHAM) - Here is what's going around for the week of September 24, 2017.
Dr. David Carlson with UR Medicine Urgent Care in Farmington is seeing upset stomachs. He reminds patients that kids being back in school means coughs and flu-like symptoms come home with them.
Patients should cover their coughs in their arms or inner elbows, not their hands. Parents should clean down door knobs, counters and tabletops - even toys and video game controllers.
Dr. Carolyn Stern with UR Medicine Urgent Care in Henrietta said this is the season for colds, flu, sore throats and strep throat.
Patients are encouraged to get their flu shots; clinics are being held now.
Alcohol-based hand sanitizer should be your best friend this time of year.
Your doctor or healthcare provider can always give you the best advice.
