Flu season ends in WNY

Updated: Friday, June 6 2014, 09:12 PM EDT

Rochester, N.Y. – June is finally here in Western New York, and with it comes an end to the flu season, according to the Health Department Commissioner.

This year’s flu season came in two different waves, first in December, then again in March, which led to higher than normal flu activity.

Now that flu season is officially over, health care workers who have not been vaccinated are no longer required to wear masks in areas where patients are present.
