Updated: Friday, May 16 2014, 06:32 AM EDT

Washington -- The Food and Drug Administration have ordered manufacturers of the sleeping pill Lunesta to cut the starting dosage for the drug in half.

The FDA said the drug could lead to drowsiness in the morning.

Doctors said that could impact a patient’s ability to drive and cause injury.

Lunesta’s manufacturer said it will lower the starting dosage from 2 milligrams to 1.
