Democratic sheriff candidate criticizes opponent's ad as 'deceptive'
Bufflao, N.Y. (WHAM) - Election Day is one week away!
On Tuesday, Todd Baxter - the Democratic candidate for Monroe County Sheriff - is criticizing Sheriff Patrick O'Flynn for running a TV ad that Baxter calls deceptive and unfair to the public.
According to Baxter, the ad insinuates that violent crime statistics such as murder and rape increased while Baxter was the Greece Police Chief.
"It's not a personal attack," Baxter said. "Just use accurate numbers. Let's share accurate information and I think that's the right thing to do."
A statement from Monroe County GOP spokesperson Jack Moffitt said:
"Baxter doesn't have to like the facts, but the FBI data proves violent crime increased by 54% under his watch. The only person trying to manipulate the facts is Todd Baxter."
