Report: Lovely Warren being considered for Cuomo running mate
Albany/Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - Could the mayor of Rochester be the new running mate for Governor Andrew Cuomo in the upcoming gubernatorial election?
A report published Tuesday in the New York Post cited sources saying Lovely Warren "is being pushed by some Democrats to replace Kathy Hochul."
In a statement released Tuesday afternoon, Mayor Warren said she would not comment on what she called "speculation."
“I have not been contacted by the Governor’s office, and will not comment on speculation from Albany,” Mayor Lovely Warren said. “Kathy Hochul has done a great job serving the needs of the citizens of Rochester and New York State. Meanwhile, I was just elected to my second term, and I am solely focused on running the City of Rochester by working to create more jobs, safer and more vibrant neighborhoods and better educational opportunities.”
Mayor Warren won re-election in November with more than 60 percent of the total vote.
