CrimeStoppers: Armed Robbery In Penfield

Updated: Friday, July 12 2013, 02:00 PM EDT
Penfield, N.Y. Monroe County Sheriffs Lt. Doug Comanzo said the two suspects confronted an employee inside the 7-11 Store, demanding money and threatening him with a gun.

This happened at 3 in the morning on April 23rd, at the store on Penfield Road.

The employee gave the suspects cash from the drawer and they took off.

But the crime was captured on store surveillance video.

The video shows the suspects pointing a gun at the clerk, as he empties the register.

Comanzo said the suspects attempted to hide their faces with black hooded sweatshirts. Both are light-skinned wearing dark clothing.

He said crimes like this are often linked to drugs. He said it's become a bigger problem because people are out of work, out of money and desperate for money to buy drugs, so that's when they often turn to violence like this.

If you have any information about the robbery of the suspects, call Crimestoppers. The number is 423-9300.
