Rochester, N.Y. (AP) - If you’re looking to get your old man something besides a boring tie for Father’s Day, you may want to rethink your decision.
Rochester natives Riley Benner and Luke Zaremski of Phoenix Haberdashery stole the show in Washington, D.C. last week, winning 1st place at the Young Entrepreneurs Academy competition with their reversible ties this past week.
The ties went on sale Saturday morning at Parkleigh on Park Avenue.
“I've come to Parkleigh many times, and I've said ‘wow look at this amazing store, they have so many awesome things here, so many cool products,” said Benner. “Now to think that I actually have my own product, from my own business in this store...What YEA has done for me...It’s been an amazing ride.”
Benner and Zaremski were awarded college scholarship money, a business reward package, and an opportunity to audition for ABC’s hit show “Shark Tank.”
The duo also plans to come out with reversible square pockets, suits and shirts to match the ties.
