Rochester, N.Y. - Legions of Rochesterians marched to stand up against domestic violence and abuse throughout the area Saturday.
There was a strong showing at a rally at Don Samuel Torres Park with speakers sharing words of inspiration.
"I was a victim of domestic violence myself for many years and one day the Lord put it in my head and said, ‘You should walk against this and we should make a big event to ensure that everybody knows that this is not the right thing to do to the families of Rochester.’" says event organizer Lucila Matos.
According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, one in four women will experience domestic abuse in their lives.
For men, it's one in 14.
