Walters says goodbye after 50 years on air

New York -- After more than five decades in the TV industry, Barbara Walters, 84, is signing off the air.

The ABC broadcaster taped her last episode of “The View” Thursday. The taping included a visit by all former and current hosts of the show.

Several other female broadcasters, including Diane Sawyer, Robin Roberts, Joan Lunden and Oprah Winfrey, also visited.

Walters’ final episode of “The View” airs Friday at 11 a.m. on 13WHAM. A two-hour special tribute, “Barbara Walters: Her Story,” will also air Friday at 9 p.m.
