Hundreds of inquiries for abused dog

Updated: Wednesday, December 11 2013, 05:27 PM EST

Rochester, N.Y. - Several days ago she was abused, now hundreds want her.

Princess is the one-year-old German Sheppard who was the recent victim of animal abuse, according to investigators with the Humane Society of Greater Rochester.

She is unable to be adopted and may not be for quite some time, said Adrienne McGargue, a spokesperson for the humane society.

“The dog will stay in our custody as evidence until the case is resolved or it’s been determined by the court what the disposition of the dog will be,” said Reno DiDomenico, Director of Law Enforcement with the Humane Society of Greater Rochester.

Princess’ story grew after video surfaced on social media of her being sprayed with a hose and beaten with a rake. Her owner, Brett McNeil has been charged with animal cruelty, said DiDomenico.

Princess is said to be in good health.
