U.S. – Despite an uncertain future in Congress, some lawmakers are refusing to give up on an immigration reform bill.
The bill, passed by the Senate last week, faces an uncertain future in the House this week.
House speaker John Boehner says he won’t bring the immigration bill up for a vote unless a majority of Republicans support it.
As for the Senate, Republican John McCain, one of the bill’s strongest supporters, says he will continue to push for the bill’s passage in the House.
The Senate version of the bill provides a pathway to citizenship for millions of undocumented workers while strengthening border security.
A vote could come sometime this week.
