Train unable to stop, kills pedestrian in Fairport

Fairport, N.Y., A pedestrian was struck and killed on the railroad tracks about 3 a.m. in Fairport.

The conductor saw the person on the tracks, but was unable to stop the train.

North Main Street in Fairport was closed between 3:00 a.m. and about 7:45 a.m. Traffic has since been reopened.

An investigation is in progress.
