Fundraiser to give out rifles

A political fundraiser later this month will be giving away an unusual door prize, either a Mossberg or Remington rifle.
Republican State Assemblyman, Bill Nojay of Pittsford, is hosting the event at a local trap and skeet club.
He says the message sent is one of opposition to the state’s SAFE act gun control law.
Nojay says all the firearms are long guns so a pistol permit isn’t needed to own one.
Background checks will also be done on site.
"In New York State especially, we've got so many rules about so many things that you always have to hire the lawyers before you do anything a little bit different," said Nojay. "That’s what we’ve done. There have been other events like this in other parts of the state and other parts of the country, you just got to check and make sure it’s all according to the book."
Nojay is currently running un-opposed.
