Updated: Monday, September 1 2014, 12:22 AM EDT

Sodus, N.Y. – A 53-year-old boater was injured, then picked up by a passing boater, on Sodus Bay Sunday.

Deputies with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department said Marie Houser of Marion was driving a boat when she made a sharp turn, causing her face and shoulder to strike the hull of the vessel.

The action ejected her into the water.

She was picked up by a passing motor boat and taken to Sodus Yacht Club where she was treated and taken to Rochester General Hospital.

Deputies said Houser was wearing a life-jacket.

She received a minor laceration and contusion to the face, along with a possible broken or dislocated shoulder.
