Rochester, N.Y. -- Love is in the air and with Valentine’s Day right around the corner, restaurants are preparin special menus for their customers.
"It's the Super Bowl of the restaurant industry,” said Jason Herbert, owner of Edibles on University Avenue.
Herbert told 13WHAM the revenue made on Valentine’s Day is equal to a week’s worth of business.
This year is also exceptional because restaurants are making a weekend of the holiday.
“It falls on a Friday, which is awesome, because people don't have to worry about getting up for work," Herbert said. "They can have a few extra drinks.”
Edibles said it's booked for Friday and is expecting more than 150 diners. It's expected to be just as busy on Saturday, with 50 reservations already made.
It's also not the only place expecting a packed house.
"We are expecting about 400 diners (Friday) night," said Jerry Serafine, owner of 2Vine on Winthrop Street. "We're going to transform the restaurant into a very romantic spot with candles and roses for everyone."
Serafine said this holiday is also a great way for restaurants to get a boost in customers during the winter season.
"This is a great time of year for restaurants, especially with the weather we've been having,” said Serafine. “It's really put a crimp in a lot of people's business, so this is going to be a great start to what's going to be a wonderful spring and summer season."
If you are still looking to grab a reservation this weekend, you may have a little more luck because, again, it's not just one day this year, it is Valentine’s weekend.
