Webster, N.Y. -- You may not recognize him, but a Webster native is an actor in the ABC sitcom “The Middle.”
Tommy Bechtold plays the recurring role of Kenny, Axl’s red-haired college roommate, on the show.
In his only scenes, Bechtold faces the computer while playing video games, and hasn’t had any lines.
Bechtold’s mother, Maggie, is an elementary school teacher in Webster. She said the role is a big break in her son’s acting career.
“He loves it. He’s thrilled,” she said. “He’s pinching himself with his good fortune. He says working on the show has been wonderful; the main actors are really kind and very supportive.”
Bechtold has also starred in some skits on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” “The Middle” airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on 13WHAM.
