He retired from clinical work in May, 2008 to devote himself full time to preventive psychiatry in military organizations"what he calls his "missionary work." He is the author of Achilles in Vietnam: Combating Trauma and the Undoing of Character (1994) and of Odysseus in America: Combat Trauma and the Trials of Homecoming (2002). Linda Fletcher

Linda Fletcher is a retired Army Nurse (Lieutenant Colonel) with a Masters in Trauma Nursing who has been involved in an independent study of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) for the last eight years. She began this quest in an effort to understand how PTSD had impacted her father who was a WWII Silver Star winner, and their entire family. In the spring of 2013 Linda Fletcher was asked to teach a class through Northwestern Michigan College extension services. When she finished the first class the students rose and demanded to continue to meet to learn more about PTSD. In that moment a grassroots organization was born, A Matter Of Honor, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation dedicated to teaching Americans about military related PTSD which is an epidemic in our land.
