13-year-old bicyclist hit by car in Victor

Victor, N.Y. - A 13-year-old bicyclist was hit by a car in Victor Saturday night.

According to deputies, it happened on State Route 96 near Heath Row around 9:20 p.m.

Deputies say Evan Yearwood of Victor was travelling on the shoulder of the road when he made a left turn into the westbound lane and into the path of a vehicle.

34-year-old Mario Torres of Victor was driving the vehicle.

Yearwood was thrown from his bike and suffered a head injury. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital where he remains in guarded condition.

Deputies say he was not wearing a helmet at the time.
