14 confirmed mumps cases on SUNY Geneseo campus
Geneseo, N.Y. (WHAM) - Two more cases of mumps were confirmed on the SUNY Geneseo campus as of Wednesday, according to the Livingston County Department of Health.
There is one other case in Livingston County, which brings the total number of confirmed cases to 15.
Last week, the total stood at 12 students who had contracted the disease: four on-campus students and eight off-campus students. Three additional cases were pending and have since been confirmed.
Businesses in the village are on alert, saying they are nervous about getting infected.
Earlier this year, one case was reported in September at the SUNY Oswego campus.
