Batman surprises local girl battling brain tumor
Fairport, N.Y. (WHAM) - For a 4-year-old local girl battling a rare brain tumor, it takes superhero courage to go what she's been through.
Sunday, she got some superhero help.
Zoey Daggett's parents sent out the bat signal for Batman in Fairport.
He showed up in his batmobile to hep bring good cheer to the superhero loving girl.
Daggett's family found out about one year ago that Zoey has a brain tumor. About one month later, they found out it was terminal, and that recipients have about 9-12 months to live.
Zoey has passed the 12 month mark.
She was flying back and forth from Germany for 5-6 months to receive treatment.
Zoey has lost her ability to walk, and her speech ability, but she's in good spirits.
Non-profit organizations from other states have been pitching in for months, to help her dream come true.
"One was wolverine came by and gave her gifts. We've had another Batman stop by and had a little one on one time with her, some quiet times and trashed our house, which is what Batman and a four year old should do,"said Casey Daggett, Zoey's mother.
"It's a day to lift her spirits, have her fight a little bit more, just show everybody loves her, and show that we all care," Daggett added.
Zoey's parents also say the folks behind DC comics have been lending a hand as well, sending Zoey some autographed movies and books.
