"We've had it up to here": Brittanee Drexel's mother hiring private investigation firm
Rochester, N.Y./Myrtle Beach, S.C. – There are new developments in the search for Brittanee Drexel. It will be nine years this April since she disappeared in Myrtle Beach. Now, Brittanee’s mother is taking action to get the answers she desperately wants.
The F.B.I.’s words left Dawn Pleckan shocked and shattered, but the case looked like it was taking a new turn. However, since then, there has been no arrest – and Dawn says investigators are not taking her calls.
She tells 13WHAM she’s had enough.
“We’ve had it up to here,” she said. “As a mother, it’s just very frustrating. I feel like Brittanee’s case will be solved, but it shouldn’t have taken this long.”
Dawn is in Myrtle Beach this weekend to again appeal for help from the community there and let them know she is seeking answers on her own. She has hired a national private investigation firm to hopefully answer questions about what happened to Brittanee.
“Bringing these people forward and having them pay for what happened to my daughter. She was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Brittanee didn’t deserve this,” said Dawn. “I will fight until the end. I’m not a mother who’s going to sit back and just sit on my hands and say, ‘Okay, I’m not doing that anymore.’”
Timothy Da’Shaun Taylor is currently in jail, awaiting sentencing in a separate case. He has never been charged in Brittanee’s case and denies any involvement.
