Couple thanks EMS workers for saving wife's life during stroke
Hamlin, N.Y. (WHAM) - A couple from Hamlin got a chance to say thank you Thursday morning to a group of life-saving workers.
On New Year's Eve, Larry Reel called 911 after his wife Karen started showing signs of a stroke.
Rachel Weaver and Kunal Patel from Monroe Ambulance arrived within minutes and got her to the hospital, which ultimately saved Karen's life.
The Reels reunited with Rachel and Kunal again on Thursday at Rochester General Hospital to share their gratitude.
"I am very thankful God used all of these people to allow me to still be here," Karen said.
"I got my wife back," Larry added. "She was paralyzed, couldn't talk...I don't know what I would do without her."
The couple has been married for 51 years.
