Deputies investigating skimmer found at Henrietta gas pump
Henrietta, N.Y. (WHAM) - Monroe County Sheriff's deputies are investigating after a skimmer was found at a gas station pump in Henrietta Wednesday.
According to deputies, someone reported a skimmer at the Kwik Fill at West Henrietta and Jefferson Road.
A skimmer is a device placed on a gas pump that takes a credit or debit card's information, collects it and allows it to be used by another individual to fraudulently purchase items.
Sheriff’s technicians were called to the scene. The investigation is currently being conducted by the Sheriff's Office's white collar crime unit.
Last month, multiple credit card skimmer were found at a gas station in Avon. The Livingston County Sheriff's Office is investigating that case.
Back in January, Monroe County Sheriff's investigators were called to a Crosby's gas station in Hamlin after a skimming device was found inside a gas pump there.
