Deputies: Man attempted to hide crack cocaine on floorboard of car

WOLCOTT, N.Y. (WHAM) - Two Wayne County men are facing charges after one drove a vehicle knowing his driving privileges were suspended and the other allegedly tried to hide crack cocaine on the floorboard of the same vehicle on Friday night.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, 52-year-old Michael Bergen and 39-year-old Joseph Krul, both of Wolcott, were arrested after the vehicle Krul was operating was observed leaving a suspected drug house on Tellier Road in the Town of Huron.

The vehicle was followed and stopped on Furnace Road in Wolcott at 10:35 p.m. for an obstructed license plate.

Upon speaking with Krul, deputies say he admitted knowing his driving privileges were suspended in New York.

Deputies also say Bergen attempted to conceal crack cocaine on the floorboard of the passenger side of the vehicle where he was seated.

Bergen was charged with Seventh Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, while Krul was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operator in the Third Degree and having an obstructed license plate.

Both were issued appearance tickets and will appear in the Town of Wolcott Court on February 2nd to answer the charges.
