Deputies: Newark man injured 11-month-old boy while babysitting
Newark, N.Y. – A Wayne County man has been charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
Sheriff’s deputies say Brandon Morris, 23, injured an 11-month-old boy while he was babysitting on two separate occasions.
Deputies said the baby suffered back injuries which caused bleeding and scarring in some areas.
According to deputies, Morris was the live-in boyfriend of the infant's mother.
Morris was arraigned and remanded to the Wayne County Jail on $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond. A stay away order of protection was issued for the child.
Wayne County Child Protective Services helped with the investigation.
