Deputies: Theft investigation of Clyde-Savannah parent-teacher group funds
Clyde, N.Y. (WHAM) - An employee with the Clyde-Savannah Central School District is being investigated for alleged thefts from a bank account.
District officials were notified Friday by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office that an employee was being investigated for stealing funds from the Parent-Teacher Group in the district.
The employee, who is also a district employee, is accused of stealing money from the PTG bank account.
In a statement, Superintendent Michael Hayden said the district is cooperating with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office as they continue to conduct their investigation into the matter.
Hayden added that all questions about the investigation should be directed to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
All previously scheduled PTG sponsored events are slated to continue.
Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts said there is "no time frame" for the investigation to be completed, adding that he is not making any more information public about the alleged thefts. Virts said he does not want to compromise the efforts of the investigators.
