Fairport Music Festival wraps up
Fairport, N.Y. - The annual Fairport Music Festival wrapped up its second and final day Saturday.
It's been 12 years and counting for this brainchild of two local men.
The festival, which features 32 bands on four stages, wrapped up at 10:00 p.m.
"Rock and roll," said co-organizer Andy McDermott. "Lots of it."
100% of the proceeds benefit Golisano Children's Hospital.
"Just a marvelous crowd comes out and everybody enjoys themselves. And as I said, the hospital and the kids in this area end up benefiting from it," said McDermott.
Over the last 12 years, organizers estimate about $1.1 million has been raised for the hospital.
