Riga, N.Y. (13WHAM) - Mary Kay Doyle and her husband lost all their possessions on Monday after a fire destroyed their Riga home. A day after the fire, the family members say Doyle is more concerned with replacing the Christmas donations meant for families in need, which were destroyed in the fire.

"She lost everything, her memories, things that can be replaced, things that can't be replaced," said Doyle's daughter, Brigid Jones. "But all she cares about is making sure these people have their Christmas."

Each Christmas, the Doyles adopt families through the Sojourner House in Rochester. This year, they had stockpiled more than $1,000 worth of clothes, toys, gift cards, and more for two families in need.

The family takes on the effort collectively, but Brigid says her mom spearheads the project.

"My mom wraps everything, gets it organized for each family, labels all the kids' names on it, the parents' names, and brings them to the house already wrapped to get dropped off to the families," said Brigid.

The plan was to get all the gifts delivered by Dec. 16. But those were temporarily halted after Monday's fire. Brigid says the family has been able to replace a large portion of the gifts.

"We're still hoping we can get everything dropped off by the 16th," said Brigid.

Brigid says her mom and step-dad have been working all day Tuesday with their insurance companies to figure out what's next for their home. She says people have been offering to help the Doyles rebuild their home, and also replace the Christmas donations. But they only have one request.

"We have all the stuff she needs, even though she lost everything she possessed," said Brigid. "Just give to people that are less fortunate than you."
