Family escapes house fire in Rochester
Rochester, N.Y. - Investigators are looking into the cause of a fire that mostly damaged the attic and 2nd floor of a Rochester home Sunday afternoon.
Crews responded to a home on Milton Street around 4:30 pm, finding heavy smoke pouring out of the two-and-a-half story home.
Everyone got out of the home safely, according to Rochester firefighters.
Crews managed to get the fire under control in 29 minutes, according to the RFD, despite the rough winter conditions.
"It's a challenge just to get here, with the roadways and everything else. Everything's slowed down, we got to slow down, make sure we don't slip and fall," said RFD Battalion Chief Darryl Winter. "Things are hectic, things are difficult."
