Firefighters put out house fire, rescue dog on Berkshire Avenue

Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - Firefighters with the Rochester Fire Department were able to extinguish a fire at a multi-family house Friday morning.

Firefighters said they were called shortly after 9 a.m. about a house fire at 25-27 Berkshire Ave.

No one was home when the fire started, with the exception of the family dog.

Firefighters were able to get the dog out of the home; the dog was a little wet but unharmed.

The fire caused moderate damage to the attic, but was put out within 25 minutes.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
