Freeze-dried food supplier adding 30 jobs, new plant in Henrietta

Henrietta, N.Y. (WHAM) - A freeze-dried food supplier will build a new plant in Henrietta, according to Governor Andrew Cuomo.

OFD Foods, LLC, is set to expand its operations through the new 50,000-square-foot facility.

The company expects to create 30 full-time jobs in the process.

OFD Foods is one of the leading suppliers of freeze-dried foods for the U.S. military. The new plant will focus on contract freeze-drying services in bulk industrial packaging for its food brands, including Mountain House and Easy Meal, for the Emergency Preparedness, Adventure Meal™, and Disaster Recovery.

The new $25 million manufacturing facility will be supported by up to $400,000 in Upstate Revitalization Initiative grant funding through Empire State Development.

OFD Foods is based in Albany, Oregon, but also has offices in Japan.

The company will break ground on the new plant in April and expects it to be completed by June 2018.
