G.E. reverses decision, will keep Rochester plant open
Rochester, N.Y. – General Electric is reversing a decision to close a plant on Science Parkway in Rochester.
Back in August, G.E. had said the manufacturing plant’s closure would impact about 100 employees.
G.E. released the following statement Tuesday night:
Over the last several months, GE Power has undergone an exhaustive review of our operations across the business to identify how to best meet the needs of our customers. As part of that review, we have determined that, at this time, we are best able to serve our customers by keeping manufacturing and assembly operations for our Industrial Communications Product line in Rochester.
