Goya donates nearly 35,000 lbs. of food to Foodlink
Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - Tens of thousands of pounds of food was donated Monday to help feed families and children in need in Rochester.
Goya Foods will donate 34,580 pounds of food to Foodlink as part of the Goya Gives ‘Can Do’ campaign.
The donation was made in the name of Tops Friendly Markets, one of Goya's distributors. Tops partnered with Goya over the last six months to bring the donations to communities in need.
"That's the agreement that Goya has with the community in upstate New York," said Reynaldo Castillas, who works with Goya.
The food is part of 1.5 million pounds of food raised over the course of six months that will go to Feeding America across the U.S.
