Greece releases traffic plan for Chick-Fil-A grand opening

GREECE, N.Y. - The grand opening of our area’s first Chick-Fil-A in Greece is only two days away. That means increased traffic along West Ridge Road.

The Greece Police Department released a new map showing temporary parking restrictions on some side streets. The restaurant also made an agreement with the Greece Mall to accommodate parking for dine-in customers.

“Across from the Bar Louie Restaurant, on that side of the mall,” said deputy chief Casey Voelkl. “It’ll be marked off. An employee from Chick-Fil-A will help people with parking, and it’ll be very clear where to park. We’ll help them get across the street.”

The new traffic plan for the opening week's anticipated congestion shows the flow of traffic to and from the restaurant.

Seven additional officers will be on hand to assist with traffic at the entrance of a handful of side streets.

“To alleviate any undue burdens to the residents there," said Voelkl. "So we’ll be in that area available to assist residents with coming and going with ease, and enforce those parking illegally.”

Chick-Fil-A says it's ready to go with a child play area and a "first 100 event" that starts Wednesday. Those first 100 customers will get free food for one year.

“I’m just really, really excited," said Chick-Fil-A owner and operator, Alan Taylor. "I’m excited to bring to serve the community that I love. This is a dream of mine. Please come out and give us an opportunity to ‘wow’ you with our hospitality, and eat more chicken.”

The temporary parking restriction are in effect from until April 17.

2. Nantucket Road: No Parking Either Side between West Ridge and Chesterton

3. Cabot Road: No Parking either Side between West Ridge and Chesterton

4. Ridgecrest Road: No Parking Either Side between West Ridge and Chesterton

5. Standish Road: No Parking Either Side between West Ridge and Dead End

6. Alcott Road: No Parking Either Side between West Ridge and Dead End

7. Greenfield Road: No Parking Either Side between West Ridge and Dead End

8. Duxbury Road: No Parking Either Side between West Ridge and Fielding

9. Ridge Terrace: No Parking Either Side between Duxbury and Greenfield

10. Hildegard Road: No Parking East Side between Garden Lane and Chesterton
