Henrietta man pleads not guilty in July crash that killed Mendon woman
Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - The Henrietta man indicted for a crash in July that killed a Mendon woman pleaded not guilty to charges against him Thursday morning.
Louie Restivo, 47, pleaded not guilty to four counts - two counts of first-degree vehicular manslaughter, one count of DWI, and one count of DWI with a BAC of .08 or higher.
The vehicular manslaughter charge was filed after court records show Restivo was convicted of DWAI in 2008.
On July 17, 26-year-old Hannah Kline was killed when Restivo turned in front of a dump truck in Mendon, causing the dump truck to crash into her vehicle.
The crash happened on Boughton Hill Road and Hunt Club Road shortly before 8 a.m. when Louie Restivo turned his pickup truck in front of a dump truck. Restivo stopped in the road before driving into a construction area in the grass.
Aaron Bassage, the dump truck driver, tried to stop as Restivo turned in front of him, but crashed into Kline's car, which was driving behind Restivo's pickup truck.
Kline left behind two young daughters, ages three and six.
Bassage was ticketed for having brakes out of service, operating out of class, and operating out of restrictions.
