Judge grants extension to Wayne County doctor to find attorney

Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - The doctor in Wayne County accused of sharing child porn and taking photos of at least eight of his child patients returned to federal court Friday morning.

David Blasczak was scheduled to have an attorney assigned to him.

The public defender assigned to Blasczak requested an additional week for his client to obtain a defense attorney with help from his family.

The only words Blasczak spoke in court Friday were "Thank you" after the judge granted his request for an extension of time to find an attorney.

From gavel to adjournment, the hearing lasted less than ten minutes.

Blasczak is scheduled to return to federal court in Rochester for another hearing on February 2 at 9:30 a.m. He will remain in federal custody until then.
