Man who buried body in backyard scheduled to be released
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHAM) - The psychiatrist who was sentenced in connection to the death of Matthew Straton is scheduled to be released on December 21.
According to records, 65-year-old Dr. William Lewek is scheduled to be released after serving time for tampering with evidence in Straton's death.
In January 2014, Straton's body was found buried in Lewek's backyard on Rowley Street in Rochester. It was later found that Straton had died, likely but not conclusively, of a drug overdose in Lewek's home in October 2013.
Lewek was sentenced in May 2015. He was not charged in Straton's death.
Lewek went before a New York State Parole Board in April 2016 and was denied parole.
The New York State Board for Professional Misconduct revoked Lewek's medical license in December 2016.
