Arson investigators on scene after fatal fire on Hooker Street

Rochester, N.Y. - Arson investigators are looking into what caused a fire on Hooker Street in which a person died Tuesday evening.

One person died after the fire. Rochester firefighters say they were dispatched to Hooker Street in Rochester around 7 p.m. There, they found a home with smoke coming from the second floor.

They say three people were home at the time. One person on the second floor of the home was transported to the hospital. There, the individual was pronounced dead.

The person has not yet been identified, according to Rochester fire investigators.

Two other people who were home at the time are said to be okay.

Rochester fire investigators said there was a working smoke detector downstairs.

Firefighters say the cause is under investigation.
