Parents meet with new leader of RCSD Special Education program
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHAM) - Parents of Special Education students in Rochester City Schools were able to meet the new leader of the program Thursday night.
The Rochester City School District has been working to address concerns about its Special Education program after its leader, Theresa Wood, abruptly quit after two months on the job.
Brenda Pacheco is now running the program.
Pacheco met with parents Thursday night - some of whom had concerns about the program.
Pacheco said she was happy to meet with the parents.
"I think this is a fabulous meeting," said Pacheco. "Parents are really invested, making sure that someone is looking out for their children, and that's exactly what they should be doing."
Pacheco said the district is responding to parents' concerns about the program.
It is still unclear why Wood quit her job with the district.
