Penfield woman in critical condition after being hit by car
Penfield, N.Y. - A 74-year-old Penfield woman remains in guarded condition after she was hit by a car late Monday night.
Deputies said Marionlee Gerych was in the road on Willow Pond Way in Penfield about 10:15 p.m., when she was hit by a car driven by 48-year-old William Dailey.
Gerych was in the process of crossing the road using a crosswalk, according to deputies.
Gerych sustained multiple injuries and was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital.
Deputies said Dailey was ticketed for failing to yield the right of way to a pedestrian in crosswalk.
Dailey was cooperative with the investigation, according to deputies, who said drugs and alcohol were not contributing factors in the crash.
