Brockport, N.Y. (WHAM) - The Brockport Police Department and Monroe County Sheriffs are investigating a woman's death at a parking lot on South Avenue near Owens Road as a homicide.

Brockport police say the woman was a Lowe's employee, who went on her lunch break around 1:00 p.m. Friday.

They believe she parked in the parking lot on South Avenue to eat.

Around 8:00 p.m. police received calls about a deceased body in a car in that same parking lot.

The victim was later identified as the Lowe's employee, 33-year-old Megan Dix of Lyndonville, Orleans County.

Police say she had what appears to be a single gunshot wound to the head.

Brockport Police and the Monroe County Sheriff's Office are asking for the public's help as they continue their investigation.

They ask anyone who was in the parking lot yesterday to contact 911.

At this time there is no word on possible suspects or a motive.
